The VidIQ extension is more than just a tool; it's a heads-up display (HUD) for YouTube. Once installed, it layers critical data over the standard YouTube interface, revealing the hidden metrics that drive the algorithm.
Instead of guessing why a video went viral, you can see exactly:
- Tags: What tags did the creator use? copy them with one click.
- SEO Score: How well optimized is the title and description?
- Velocity: How many views per hour is this video getting right now?
- Social Shares: How many times has this been shared on Facebook, Reddit, or Twitter?
What You Get After Installing
The installation takes seconds, but the value is immediate. Here is a breakdown of the key features that will appear on your YouTube dashboard:
1. The Scorecard
Appears next to every video you watch. It gives you a deep dive into the video's performance, from engagement rates to estimated revenue.
2. Keyword Inspector
Type anything into the YouTube search bar, and VidIQ will tell you the search volume and competition score instantly.
3. Channel Audit
A customized dashboard that analyzes your own channel's performance, showing you what's working and what's not.
